Energy Generation Target of 2020 Exceeded by Pertamina Geothermal Energy

According to PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), the record of electricity equivalent or Electric Volume Produce for Geothermal reached 4,618.27 GWh in 2020. AG Lahendong generated 828 GWh of electricity equivalent, which was 10% more than the goal of 754 GWh. AG Ulubelu then said that the electricity equivalent output was 1,613 GWh, which was 21% higher than the target of 1,335 GWh. Then AG Lumut Balai recorded 442 GWh of electricity, which was 12% higher than the goal of 395 GWh. Pertamina Geothermal Energy also conducted a study to increase the installed capacity of geothermal energy for power generation from the current operations sector, in addition to maintaining the plant’s power supply.

The Ulubelu Area (Lampung) and the Lahendong Area were chosen as the study’s initial focus areas (North Sulawesi). also plans to run a PLTP with an own operation power of 1.3 Giga Watt (GW) by 2030, according to Yuniarto.currently manages 15 geothermal working areas, with a total capacity of 1877 megawatts of geothermal electricity provided.
