Oasis Petroleum Appoints Daniel Brown as CEO and Board Member

Oasis Petroleum appointed Daniel E. Brown as the new Chief Executive Officer effective from 13^th April 2021. Simultaneously, Brown was also appointed to the Board of Directors of the company. He has 23 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry as he spent his career with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

From October 2017 to August 2019, Brown served as the Executive Vice President of Anadarko, U.S. Onshore Operations. Before that position, he also served as Executive Vice President, International and Deepwater Operations from May 2017 and many more leadership roles. In August 2006, Brown joined Anadarko upon the acquisition of Kerr-McGee Corporation where he began his career.

In addition to those positions, Brown also held positions of increasing responsibility with Anadarko and Kerr-McGee throughout his career in the United States onshore. Brown was also the director of Western Gas Equity Partners, LP and Western Gas Partners, LP until August 2019. Since the beginning of 2020, he served as the board of Beacon Offshore Energy LLC, a company that focuses on the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

Brown is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Texas and also serves as the board of Junior Achievement of Southwest Texas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Science and is a Mechanical Engineer from the Texas A&M University and an MBA from Rice University. He was also a Jones Scholar Award recipient.
