The stock outperformed some of its competitors Wednesday, as Exxon Mobil Corp. XOM rose 3.01% to $60.97, Chevron Corp. CVX rose 2.69% to $108.96, and BP PLC ADR BP rose 3.32% to $26.78. Trading volume (6.3 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 5.7 M. Trading volume (11.5 M) remained 7.0 million below its 50-day average volume of 18.6 M.
